The Role Description

Strawberry is looking for a motivated leader to drive development for its existing and new products (HW+SW). As a Head of Engineering you will be responsible for the roadmap, development and execution of core systems in our portfolio, leading engineers and contributing yourself technically, as well as maintaining a bar of technical excellence throughout the organization. The candidate needs to show outstanding technical and managerial skills, and to be passionate about bringing sustainable energy to the world.

Responsibilities

  • Defines Technology stack for future products
  • Lead development of HW/IoT/SW products from the beginning - throughout the cycles of development, manufacturing and release.
  • Conducts research to improve the technological assets of a company
  • Provide architectural and design directions
  • Control tech debt and technical decisions across the stack: HW and SW
  • Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage
  • Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance
  • Introduces technology best practices to the rest of the team
  • Mentoring and career development of the team

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams or similar leadership roles.
  • Knowledge of technological trends
  • Understanding of budgets and business-planning
  • Ability to conduct technological analyses and research
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn and ability to change direction quickly
  • Getting the hands dirty from time to time
